Sewing machine, fabric scissors, fabric pins, iron and an ironing board.
Helpful: Tailors chalk, pattern weights, rotary cutter and cutting matt, an un-picker.
Oilskin, dry oilskin, cotton jacquard, mid - heavy cotton canvas or twill, mid weight denim or corduroy.
For the lining; barrier lining or a simple stable cotton.
Consider if you will want to put this dog coat in the washing machine when choosing cloth - for example oilskin cannot be washed - you would let the dirt dry and then brush it off.
