FAQS
How do I figure out my size?
Most designers offer a size chart, which will feature in the images for the product. Measure your bust, waist and hip measurement. Compare your measurements to the size chart and select the size closest to your bodies measurements. We always recommend rounding up a size rather than down a size if you are in-between. You can always alter something a little big to fit better but it's hard to fix if the garment ends up being too small. If a size chart is missing reach out to us on our contact page for more help.
What is included in the purchase?
All purchases come as an E-book. English written instructions or tutorials are included. Unless stated, an A4 and A0 file size for the pattern will be included.
Sometimes a US Letter size or Projector size may also be included.
I have purchased a sewing pattern but I can't find the download the link?
An automatic email is sent to you after you purchase a sewing pattern. This will contain a link to download your file online. Make sure you have working internet to do so. If you are having any problems with this, message us on the contact form and a member of the team will respond as soon as they can.
How do I print my pattern?
Unless specified, all patterns come in A4 or A0 formatting (sometimes letter size too).
If you want to use your home printer, select the A4 option. Print all pages in that section. Then stick together like a puzzle.
If you would rather have the pattern in less pieces, you can take the file to a professional printing company and get the pattern printed at A0 size. (We will have suggested printing places in the community section soon). Printing can cost roughly around NZ$10-30 depending on how many pages and the how much the printing company charges.
Lydia Naomi also offers some great tips on printing.

Can I share my purchased sewing pattern with my friends?
No. Archive only stocks patterns by independent designers. Every purchased pattern supports a small business. Please discourage sharing and encourage your friends to support these small businesses by purchasing their own copy. We have both visible and invisible markers embedded within the PDF that can be traced to the purchaser's identification.
Can I make clothes from a purchased sewing pattern to sell?
No. The designers have specified the pdf patterns are for personal use only.
Can I stock my sewing patterns on Archive?
Yes! We would love to feature your designs if you are an independent designer. Please get in touch for more information.
We offer extra protection for your files to help prevent the patterns being used by multiple people or distributed in ways they shouldn't be.
