Fabric Crown
PDF sewing pattern for the Fabric Crown.
Bring a touch of whimsy to a special day with a reversible Fabric Crown - made by you, using your own fabrics. Requiring just a little fabric this is a great beginner friendly project perfect for using those fabric remnants. Option to finish with an elastic back or tie up back to stay secure.
Size Range: Finished size 37cm (l) x 13cm (w) (14.5" x 5.2"), plus band/ribbon
Beginner
Main fabric, matching thread, wadding/batting, tape measure, pins, sewing scissors, iron, a safety pin, and either 13cm x 3cm non-roll elastic, or 80cm(32") ribbon or twill tape.
Woven fabrics; this project is best suited to medium weight woven fabrics such as
cotton, linen, light weight denim, cotton velvet - even a repurposed woolen blanket or tablecloth
could work.
For the inner, best suited to a medium weight wadding/batting (Claxton + Co recommends needle punch
due to the rigidity it provides). You could use a heavy interfacing however this option won't
provide any of the softness the wadding brings.
You will need 2 x 50cm (w) x 25cm (h) (20" x 10") cuts of your main fabric.
