Welcome to Archive
Welcome!
Thanks for engaging in the Archive community :)
This website has been a year and a half in the works. A huge shout out to all those people who encouraged me and helped me get to this point. The first step of my dream is finally a reality. I'm so excited to share it with you!
What is Archive? It's my dream to create a hub for all things sewing related. A guide for beginners and advanced sewers alike. Where you can find sewing patterns. Information around where to find sewing related items + tips and tricks to improve your skills.
Archive is currently focusing on selling pdf sewing patterns. I am beyond excited for this platform to be out there for independent/indie designers to sell their sewing patterns but also for creatives to have a space they can easily find a great selection of patterns. Making a garment from a pattern by a fellow creative and supporting a small business makes your final garment even more special. My goal is to be the biggest platform for independent sewing pattern designers in the world.
The community section is not yet live, it is underway. I'd love to hear from you about your favourite fabric store or who you like to follow for the best sewing tips. Reach out on our contact page or instagram.
Things in the works are an interactive map for sewing related stores in New Zealand and Australia. Suggestions for printing companies. Where to get sewing lessons. Beginner projects to get you started. Dressmakers. The best sewers to follow for tips and tricks and so much more. Follow us on instagram for updates as these happen.
Don't sew? Well I hope Archive inspires you to start creating.
“Dude, sucking at sumthin’ is the first step towards being sorta good at something.” -Jake the Dog, Adventure Time.
Think it's too hard to start? I wanted to share this quote and my story. I failed sewing in high school. Yet I went onto university and majored in fashion design. I am not naturally gifted at sewing and I was slow to learn how to sew and create patterns. 17 years later I have run a fashion label and can make any garment I want. You can do it too. I believe in you!
I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Amy.
